BONUS NOTE:
Notice how Jafar fights the whole movie to gain power and rulership throughout the whole movie, yet in the end, the power to rule is granted to a street urchin. Jafar is instead enslaved in his own sin. Aladdin could never have become sultan on his own merits- unless the law was changed and the sultan granted him the position of a son in law, he would still be a thieving orphan.
In the same way, God fulfilled the law’s requirements through the shed blood of his son Jesus, and he offers us the right to be called sons and daughters of God. Romans 8:15-17 says, “For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father!’ The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him.” It is not by anything we have done, but by his own choice that he freely gives us the power to be co-heirs with Christ.
